| Hailing from Malacca, Gan polled 10,467 votes in the 2008 general election to beat the MCA candidate Goh Ah Ling by 4,192 for the Rawang state assembly seat. She wasn't even 30 when she won.
As of today April 4, 2013 the Selangor State Assembly has been dissolved and technically Gan is no longer the Assemblyperson for Rawang.
In any event, we'll hear from her the challenges she faced as a young woman representative.
