During the five-day trip, Malaysiakini interviewed local natives randomly. Surprisingly, most of the natives said that government had never sent any representatives to the long houses to brief them about the dam, it's impact and compensation.
In this episode, we came to Long Na'ah, the nearest longhouse to the proposed Baram dam site. We interviewed a Kayan lady, Janda Balo. In the interview, she said that she cried after she watched the documentary video presented by the Save Rivers Network, which showed the suffering of the people affected by the Bakun dam project. She refused to move and she is willing "to live like this until I die".
