| malaysiakini just uploaded a video: Sept 16, 2012: Saya Anak Bangsa Malaysia (SABM) celebrated Malaysia Day as well as its third anniversary focusing on the theme 'Dan Lain-Lain'. Why Dan Lain-Lain? That's because "every community in this country has in some way or other adopted and adapted to the geography, and culture of its neighbours." We are interwoven, plain and simple. The evening started with the MyBatik session where each guest got to draw and paint a personal piece of batik. The pieces, when combined, would make the Malaysian flag. There is a moral to this: That it is the many individual narratives that collectively make the nation. There was also a photo exhibition-cum-graffiti wall showcasing our "Home". The photo collection included many interesting and beautiful places in Malaysia from the Taiping Lake Gardens to the Tip of Borneo, the many difference faces and facets of Malaysians as well as the anti-ISA and Bersih rally.
