malaysiakini just uploaded a video: In November 2011, we published a video story on the Ahmadiyah sect in Malaysia. The Jemaat Ahmadiyah Muslim Malaysia has a following of less than 2000 throughout Malaysia and headquartered near Batu Caves in Kuala Lumpur. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6MMVCco7cNs As part of the story we wanted to know Indonesia's own experience with this sect which has faced persecution in most of the Muslim world. In Pakistan for instance, they have been attacked and killed. Sometime in February 2011, Indonesia saw its worst violence against the Ahmadiyah when a centre was attacked and burned to the ground. In the violence, three sect members were brutally killed while scores were injured as attackers came at them with machetes, knives, sticks and rocks. We interviewed Lili Yulyadi bin Arnakim, Visiting Lecturer at the Department of South East Asian studies at University Malaya to find out more about the Ahmadis and why Indonesian muslims have such revulsion towards the sect.
